Placement is one of best ways to gain work experiences but it can be challenging to find one that fit in your area of study. The global pandemic has been affecting many jobs including placement offer due to the health restrictions. Fortunately, I managed to do a short placement during the summer 2021. I had an opportunity to do two weeks on salmon and trout Parr tagging project on the river Frome and its surroundings. As part of the Salmon and Trout conservation, fish were tagged and released back into the river. It was mostly long hours work but I enjoyed it very much because the team leaders are very helpful and friendly. The skills that I gained from the project are extremely important and useful for other similar projects as well.
