I was very lucky to gain work experience with the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust where my job was to help out with the monitoring of the salmon smolts.

Our main job was to collect the fish from the trap every half an hour as well as making sure that everything was running smoothly. Problem recognition and solving was an important aspect of the job, we had some problems one night with the amount of water coming through which had to be solved very quickly. Overall, it has been a really inspirational week and has given me insight into what it is like to be in the field collecting data.
