The latest round of our sea trout kelt tagging programme has recently been completed. Despite high water and flooding for most of November and December, between late Nov to Feb we caught some 120 sea trout kelts on the Frome, Tamar and Bresle of which 99 were large enough to tag with our acoustic and data storage tags. These 99 fish are now out at sea and when they return this summer we will be on standby on the Tamar and Bresle traps and with electric fishing gear on the Frome to recapture as many as we can to recover the tags and the important data inside.
