Salmon return to River Frome from feeding in North Atlantic

As part of the SAMARCH project we are estimating the marine survival rate of the salmon populations in the Channel’s five salmon index rivers, the Frome and Tamar in the UK and Scorff, Bresle and Oir in France. This involves estimating the population of young fish that leave the river as smolts each spring and their return as adults. Below are three salmon that made it back to the River Frome from their marine journey to their feeding grounds off the North Atlantic, around Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
